Advocating for the conservaton and protection of nature in
El Granada to mitigate local climate change, and preserve wildlife habitat.

EG Advocate’s goal is to promote fire safety and defensible space in balance with preserving the environment. A well established tree canopy keeps the climate cool and damp, preserves ground water, and keeps the soil moist and stable. Preventing the HEAT ISLAND EFFECT in our town and Parks is very important. Preserving tree canopy and replanting trees should be every municipality's priority during climate change.  In addition, we strive to protect our sensitive ecosystems and watershed from being regularly sprayed with toxic pesticides and herbicides.

Decline or damage to our natural environment can cause loss of local water cycles, reduced carbon capture, and drying out of the land leading to higher fire risk, erosion, and flooding during rains.  We invite you to look through this website, enjoy the beautiful images and information and consider how you might help to conserve this unique environment.

El Granada, California, has the most beautiful vistas in every direction you turn - from the vast, sparkling, moody ocean to the rolling hills filled with miles of trails to hike high into the chaparral. Preserving this gorgeous environment is paramount for ourselves and for the wildlife.

Our local San Mateo Agencies work for us. They make changes that effect our environment and our lives, the balance of our climate, the open spaces and the wildlife within them. We encourage coastside residents to express their concerns by writing letters and speaking up at meetings. They need to hear from all of us.
